Unhappy Flickers and Reading
I believe I might be inheriting my spouses computer karma. This is not a good thing :) I noticed over the past couple of days that my screen tends to go black...and then return, almost as if it was going to screensaver. This morning it was more noticeable as I was reading something, got up for coffee and it flickered out even though I was only gone for a minute or so. Should be interesting :)
As for reading...that reminds me of something I sent to a friend yesterday. He had sent me an email asking for clarification about an event, I answered it while my brain was still engaged in the book I was currently consuming :) the phrase that is causing fevered response in his mind is "brain weird reading now...". I should explain...
I love to read, anyone that knows me knows this :) Some of you have been subjected to its effects. Reading is my stress relief and my escape, I have a few authors I adore. Nora Roberts is one of them, but they are legion. I don't hear things when I read, I don't understand english most of the time. If my face is buried in a book, you have to make sure I am looking at you and that the glazed doughnut look is gone from my eyes, before you can be assured I am paying attention. It takes me a moment or two to phase back into reality when I read. In trying to answer an email and read at the same time, things didn't sound right to my brain, hence the "brain weird" comment. Of course my other friend that called during the reading got it worse, I was in the "40 pages from the end mode". People who live with me know that I am not to be disturbed 40 pages from the end. It won't take me long to finish, but I am darn near impossible to contact during that time. Gimme 15 minutes I'll be done, then try and talk to me :)It'll be worth it, cause I tend to yell a lot when I'm 40 pages away...
